Sweet World is a confectionery business in Doha. Sweets are one of the most visually aggressive retail categories there is: the product arrives pre-packaged in every colour available, arranged in bulk, and the whole shop floor competes for attention at once. A brand that tries to out-shout that disappears into it.
We handled art direction and the brand identity, designing a system that frames the product rather than joining the noise. The mark and palette were built to stay recognisable against a backdrop of thousands of competing wrappers, and to read clearly on a shopfront from across a mall or street.
The category's second demand is range. A confectionery brand appears on shelf edging, bulk bins, gift boxes, paper bags, weighing labels and price cards — mostly applied in-store by staff, at speed, without a designer. So the identity was built as a documented system with clear rules for colour, type and spacing, designed to stay consistent whether it lands on a printed gift box or a hand-labelled bag.
Sweets are also bought on impulse and given as gifts. The packaging had to work for both: quick enough to recognise on a passing glance, and presentable enough that someone would hand it to somebody else.
Tell us what you’re building. We’ll come back with a scope and a price.
